The Diamond Dogs Winter 2010 collection is hailed as Kate's best yet, and the runway show is again a highlight of ANZFW.
Inspired by Judith 'Black Lips' Baragwanath, and her collection of ragtag friends, the diamond dogs stalked down the runway to a soundtrack by The Stranglers, The Crocodiles, The Horrors, The Jesus and Mary Chain and the Black Lips. The setting, a grubby chandeleir embellished warehouse, perfectly complemented punk inspired and patched pieces juxtaposed alongside pretty tea dresses in flowing silks, lace lingerie and military inspired khakis.
Kate Sylvester's Spring Summer '09/'10 show Take A Hike is a hit at RAFW. The show is inspired by intrepid explorers such as Idina Sackville and Lady Florence Baker who refuse to believe that a love of nature needs to compromise one's love of fashion.
In a collection that plays with the two extremes of earth and plastic, models hiked down the runway to another killer soundtrack that included songs by Vampire Weekend and Arcade Fire.

Kate Sylvester returns to Rosemount Australian Fashion week with the 'Royally Screwed' Summer '08 collection which receives rave reviews, but inadvertently causes a media storm over her use of war medals.
Kate issued a public apology for offending war veterans who claimed her use of genuine medals in the show made light of "gallantry and valour."
"I didn't want to offend anyone and it wasn't the intention" Kate told The Dominion Post. "I have a huge respect for returned servicemen."
