TELL US ABOUT WHAT YOU DO

I am currently studying a BA of Photography in Melbourne at Photography Studies College. I’m trying my best to immerse myself in the photography/art world, building connections, preparing myself for graduation, and absorbing everything I can in the process. I also work part time in a health food store, with an endless supply of chocolate and super-foods at my fingertips!

WHAT OR WHO IS INFLUENCING YOU RIGHT NOW?

Nature is probably my biggest influence, often exploring for hours without any concept of time in the forests close to my house. Meditation is also a source of clarity and inspiration to me, this is a daily practice that keeps me grounded and focused on my goals and aspirations. I also have a few close friends studying Fashion Design and we build concepts together – often bouncing ideas off one another, sketching, shooting, filming and laughing throughout the process. My work is a reflection of my connection to nature and my childlike characteristics and my boyfriend reminds me to express myself in everything I do.

IF YOU COULD WORK WITH ANYBODY IN THE WORLD WHO WOULD IT BE?

Irina Rozovsky or Diana Lui. Although they photograph different subject matter and concepts, they both shoot on large format film, and are based in Europe. I have a love affair with Europe, and I admire both of their dedication and passion for what they produce, often working on projects for years at a time. I think that staying true to yourself and finding what stimulates you as an individual is how you produce work that has deeper layers to it – work that draws the viewer in, wanting to know more.

WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF BEAUTY?

To me, beauty is strength. Beauty is knowing who you are and going out into the world with strong beliefs about yourself and the elements surrounding you. Beauty is also a stem of love, and loving yourself and everything around you is a way to attract what you need on your path or journey.
